We bought a flat in Laketown CHS, Bibwewadi. The society is huge and consists of 30 odd buildings. There is this grand Entrance Gate. Once inside the gate, the road goes straight up ahead and comes to a fountain, some 100-150 meters ahead. After we bought the flat, we realised that the area and all buildings behind the fountain fall in Katraj area, whereas all buildings from the Main Entrance till the fountain fall in Bibwewadi area.
We got to know this only when we reached the Property Tax Office on Hirabaug Rd. to submit an application for change in name on Property Tax Receipt. There we were told to go to Katraj Prop Tax office since our flat falls in Katraj Area.
Thus, we went all the way from Bibwewadi to Hirabaug and back to Katraj.

On Pune-Satara Highway, reach Katraj Snake Park & Zoo
Just opp the Katraj Zoo there is a yellow-coloured Kalubai Mata Temple.
Take a U turn from Katraj signal and get on the Service Road.
Take the small lane just next to Kalubai Mata Temple.
Barely 50 mtrs. ahead lies the Katraj Property Tax Office.
Note: There is NO Xerox shop available anywhere near the Property Tax Office. You have to head down some 500 meters on the main road towards Swargate and only then you'll find a Xerox shop.
In the Office we met Mr Nimbalkar who handles the Name Change process. Fortunately for us, he was a very honest and straightforward guy. He gave us the Name Change form which had a list of documents mentioned. Incidentally, this list is not available anywhere ONLINE.
So, here it is. You can see how the form is and what are the list of documents necessary while applying for Name Change on Property Tax.
Note: You will have to compile a copy of all the listed documents in a physical file and submit the file to the officer, in our case it was Mr Nimbalkar. He was very cooperative and we didn't have to pay a single rupee to get the name changed.
Within 15 days, our name was updated and we received the next Property Tax Bill on our name.

1. Copy of Registered Sale Agreement
2. Copy of Index II from the Agreement
3. Copy of your flat Share Certificate
4. NOC from Society for Name Change (to be obtained from Society office)
5. NOC from Property Dept for Name Change (to be obtained online)
